Emory & Henry Volleyball Splits A Pair At Carolina Tri-Match

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Emory & Henry University Volleyball Team (3-10) split a pair of matches at a tri-match hosted by Carolina University (12-6) Saturday afternoon. The Wasps topped Guilford College (6-5) in five sets in the opener, before dropping a tough five setter to the host Bruins in the nightcap. 

The Basics

The Guilford Match
- Senior middle Gracyn Miller (Lilburn, Ga.) was electric in the opening match for the Wasps as she posted a career-high 16 kills, four blocks, three digs and an assist. Sophomore outside hitter Tori Boling (Tega Cay, S.C.) had a double-double with 10 kills, 16 digs, three blocks and a pair of service aces while junior middle Haley Harnichar (Sevierville, Tenn.) added seven kills, six blocks, two digs and an assist.
- Freshman setter Sydni Davis (Cornelius, N.C.) had a career-high 24 assists, two digs and a service ace for E&H in the win. Sophomore setter Zoie Pace (Collinsville, Va.) recorded a double-double of her own with 22 assists, a career-high 18 digs and three service aces. 

The Carolina U Match
- Boling led the way offensively for E&H with another double-double of 12 kills, 17 digs, four blocks, two service aces and an assist. Senior outside hitter Julissa Hopgood (Lutz, Fla.) registered her own double-double with 11 kills, 12 digs and a block. Miller went for seven kills, five blocks, five digs and three service aces.
- Pace led the team with 23 assists, while adding five digs, one kill and a service ace. Davis had 16 assists, six digs and a service ace for the Wasps.

- Emory & Henry returns to South Atlantic Conference action on Tuesday, September 30 when they make the trip to Jefferson City, Tennessee to take on the Eagles of Carson-Newman University. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. from Holt Fieldhouse.
