Emory & Henry Women’s Cross Country Finishes Eighth At SAC Championships

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry University Women's Cross Country Team got the postseason underway on Saturday, finishing eighth at the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Championships. The meet took place at Kinser Park in Greeneville, Tennessee, and was hosted by Tusculum University.

The Results – Women's 6K
- Junior Kennedy Harris (Mineral, Va.) led the way for the Wasps as she picked up a 25th-place finish in 25:29. Sophomore Tess Somervell (Chilhowie, Va.) finished in 55th with her time of 27:29. Senior Elise McKinney (Church Hill, Tenn.) stopped the clock at 27:31 to place 58th.
- Junior McKenzie Tate (Wytheville, Va.) was 70th in 29:00 while junior Maya Turner (Midland, Va.) placed 73rd in 29:33. Junior Hannah Rosen (Falls Church, Va.) finished in 82nd with her time of 30:58.
- Freshman Lilia Yanez (El Paso, Texas) completed the course in 31:41 for 85th while fellow freshmen Violet Riddle (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Lily Tuell (Marion, Va.) were 97th and 103rd respectively with times of 34:06 and 44:05.

The Winners
- Wingate University's Abigail Bester won medalist honors covering the course in 23:08, beating her sister and teammate Kiara Bester by just two seconds.
- The Bulldogs won their fifth-straight SAC title, as all five of its runners finished in the top 10. Catawba College was the runner-up, placing its five scoring runners in the top 12.

- Emory & Henry will next compete at the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Championship on Saturday, November 8. The meet will take place at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, North Carolina.
