Emory & Henry Women’s Cross Country Places Tenth At Royals XC Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Emory & Henry University Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams traveled to Queens University of Charlotte for the Royals Cross Country Challenge Saturday evening. The men's squad took fourteenth place while the women's team was tenth.

The Women – 5K
-To lead the Wasps was junior Kennedy Harris (Mineral, Va.) finished 7th with a time of 19:22. Senior Elise McKinney (Church Hill, Tenn.) in 19:38 placed 11th, while junior McKenzie Tate (Wytheville, Va.) 21:18 placed 50th.
- Sophomore Tess Somervell (Chilhowie, Va.) placed 52st with a 21:21 and junior Hannah Rosen (Falls Church, Va.) was 77th with her time of 22:19.
- Meredith College took the title, placing 3 runners in the top 10. Meredith's Delaney Bundy was the individual champion as she posted a time of 18:36.

The Men – 8K
- Senior Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) placed 21st as E&H's top finisher, running a 25:12. Junior Davis Norman (Salem, Va.) placed 68th while running a 26:22, while senior Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.)stopped the clock in 26:41 to take 87th.
- Aiden Trautman finished 108 with a time of 27:20 as freshman J.T. Moore (Chilhowie, Va.)rounded out the Wasps' scorers in 118th (27:41).
- The University of North Carolina at Charlotte won the team event with 4 runners in the top 20. Unattached runner Avery Jaynes claimed first in 24:12

Emory & Henry will travel to Greeneville, Tennessee on October 25th for the SAC Conference Championships.
