HARTSVILLE S.C. – The Emory & Henry University Volleyball Team (3-25, 0-18 SAC) fell in its final contest of the 2025 season to Coker University (11-16, 7-11 SAC) Friday evening. The Cobras defeated the Wasps by set scores of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-15.

How It Happened
- Neither team could create separation through the first stages of the opening set and the squads were all square at 10-10. A 9-4 rally through the middle of the frame saw the Cobras establish a five-point cushion. Coker finished off the set with another 6-2 spurt to take the stanza 25-16.
- The Wasps jumped on the Cobras early in the second set as they established a 14-8 advantage. Coker battled back and eventually pulled level at 20-20 heading into the deciding points. E&H nudged ahead 22-21, but Coker responded with four consecutive points to take the second frame by a 25-22 margin.
- The Cobras flipped the script in the final set as they took the early 11-4 lead over the visiting Wasps. E&H rallied with seven of the next 10 points to pull back within striking distance at 14-11, but Coker had an answer as they rattled off six straight to push their margin back out to nine at 20-11. The teams traded points down the stretch, but it was too little too late as the Cobras sealed the set and the match by a 25-15 scoreline.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior middle Gracyn Miller (Lilburn, Ga.) led the Wasps with three kills, a match-high six blocks and a pair of digs. Junior middle Haley Harnichar (Sevierville, Tenn.) added five kills and a pair of blocks while junior outside hitter Grace Duey (Tega Cay, S.C.) posted six kills and a block.
- Freshman libero Gracy Lasig (Knoxville, Tenn.) recorded a team-high 18 digs and an assist while sophomore setter Zoie Pace (Collinsville, Va.) had a team-high nine assists, six digs and a service ace.
Coker Individual Leaders
- Pelin Aksoy led all players with a match-high 15 kills, three digs and three blocks. Cayla Gilmore registered nine kills and four digs while Hazar Kayan had six kills and nine digs.
- Maddy Roberts led the Cobras with a match-high 17 assists, eight digs, two kills and a service ace. Cheyenne Bird had 14 assists, seven digs and a service ace for Coker.
