Lincoln Memorial Volleyball Sweeps Emory & Henry In SAC Play

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry University Volleyball Team (3-17, 0-11 SAC) dropped a South Atlantic Conference road match to Lincoln Memorial University (8-13, 4-8 SAC) Tuesday evening. The Lady Splitters completed the season sweep of the Wasps by scores of 25-7, 25-10 and 25-17.

How It Happened
- Lincoln Memorial took control early in the opening set as the Lady Splitters ran out to a 16-3 advantage. The Wasps answered back with three consecutive points, but LMU would finish off the frame by taking nine of the final 10 chances to take the set 25-7.
- LMU once again ran out to an early lead as they held a 15-6 margin at the midpoint of the second stanza. Lincoln Memorial put together another run over the latter stages of the set as they won 10 of the last 14 points to take a commanding two-set lead by a 25-10 scoreline.
- The Lady Splitters were the first to15 points for the third time in as many sets as they established a seven-point lead. The Wasps managed to pull back within striking distance at 15-10 until LMU reeled off five straight to give themselves some breathing room. E&H would reduce the gap to five once more with the score at 21-16, but the Lady Splitters won four of the final five points to win the set and the match 25-17.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore middle Abigail Leo (Charlotte, N.C.) led the Wasps with four kills and a block while sophomore outside hitter Tori Boling (Tega Cay, S.C.) added four kills and four digs. Junior middle Haley Harnichar (Sevierville, Tenn.) recorded two kills and a pair of blocks.
- Freshman setter Sydni Davis (Cornelius, N.C.) collected a team-high seven assists, two digs and a kill. Freshman libero Gracy Lasig (Knoxville, Tenn.) went for a team-high 10 digs and an assist.

Lincoln Memorial Individual Leaders
- Kaytlin Johnson had a match-high 10 kills and a dig while Megan Maier posted seven kills, four digs and a service ace. Finley Sparks registered eight kills, five digs and an assist for LMU.
- Lauren Pickett contributed a match-high 16 assists, seven digs and a service ace while Carley Raleigh added 13 assists, two service aces and three digs in the win.

- Emory & Henry continues its road trip on Friday, October 24 when they travel to take on the Trojans of Anderson (S.C.) University. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from the Abney Athletic Center.
