WINGATE, N.C. – The No. 19 nationally-ranked Wingate University Volleyball Team (16-1, 9-0 SAC) earned a South Atlantic Conference sweep over Emory & Henry University (3-14, 0-8 SAC) Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs picked up set wins by scores of 25-12, 25-11 and 25-16.

How It Happened
- The Bulldogs jumped ahead early as they won the first 13 points of the set. E&H slowly worked itself back within shouting distance, and the score stood at 21-12 heading down the stretch. The nationally-ranked Bulldogs reeled off four straight to take the opener 25-12.
- It was all Wingate again to begin the second set as the hosts ran out to a 17-3 advantage. WU controlled throughout the frame, taking set number two by a 25-11 margin.
- Things were much tighter to start the third stanza and Wingate clung to a narrow 12-11 lead. The squads exchanged blows through the middle of the set, with the Wasps trailing by just one at 16-15. The Bulldogs again went on a run, taking nine of the final 10 points to complete the sweep by a 25-16 final.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore middle Abigail Leo (Charlotte, N.C.) led the Wasps with seven kills, four digs and a block while sophomore outside hitter Tori Boling (Tega Cay, S.C.) added two kills, three digs, two blocks and a service ace.
- Sophomore setter Zoie Pace (Collinsville, Va.) posted a team-high 10 assists, six digs and a pair of service aces. Senior middle Gracyn Miller (Lilburn, Ga.) went for one kill, six digs, two blocks and a service ace.
Wingate Individual Leaders
- Emily Johnson led all offensive players with 13 kills, three blocks, three service aces and three digs. Sydney Morland added 13 kills and three blocks while Jordan Griffin had eight kills, two blocks and a pair of digs.
- Maya Van Heyst paced the Bulldogs with a match-high 34 assists, six digs, four kills and a pair of blocks.
