Emory & Henry Volleyball Falls To Lincoln Memorial, 3-0, In SAC Match Tuesday

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry University Volleyball Team (2-8, 0-3 SAC) dropped a midweek South Atlantic Conference showdown to Lincoln Memorial University (7-6, 3-1 SAC) inside the John Rutledge King Center Tuesday evening. The Lady Railsplitters earned the sweep by scores of 25-21, 25-20 and 25-19.

How It Happened
- It was a tight affair to begin the match as the two teams traded blows in the early stages and the score stood tied at 10-10. The Lady Railsplitters were able to create some breathing room through the middle of the set and held a 20-16 lead. LMU was able to push its margin out to 23-16, but four consecutive points from the Wasps closed the deficit to just three at 23-20. The visitors closed out the frame with two of the next three points and jumped ahead with the 25-21 set win.
- The Wasps jumped ahead early in the second as they established a narrow 5-3 lead, but LMU responded with six of the next seven to leapfrog the Wasps at 9-6. The Lady Railsplitters saw their lead reach 13-8 until E&H came storming back with seven of the following eight points to make it 15-14 in favor of the home team. The match of runs continued as LMU bounced back with eight of the next 11 opportunities to take control at 22-18. The Lady Railsplitters made it 2-0 as they finished out the stanza with a 25-20 victory.
- E&H once more started hot in the third set as the Wasps were first to 15, holding on to a three-point advantage. Six straight points from LMU saw them take a lead that they would not relinquish, closing out the set and the match 25-19.  

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior middle Gracyn Miller (Lilburn, Ga.) led the Wasps with seven kills, four blocks and three digs. Sophomore outside hitter Tori Boling (Tega Cay, S.C.) went for seven kills, 16 digs and a pair of assists while junior outside hitter Grace Duey (Tega Cay, S.C.) added six kills and a dig. Sophomore outside hitter Mollee Cutshall (Blountville, Tenn.) recorded two kills, seven assists, two digs, one block and a service ace. Sophomore outside hitter Carmen Pelto (Mandeville, La.) contributed three kills and a block and freshman outside hitter Alexis Dietterick (Gainesville, Va.) finished with two kills and a pair of blocks.
- Sophomore setter Zoie Pace (Collinsville, Va.) registered a team-high 13 assists and nine digs while freshman libero Gracy Lasig (Knoxville, Tenn.) posted a team-high 19 digs, two assists and a pair of service aces. 

Lincoln Memorial Individual Leaders
- Kaytlin Johnson led all players with a match-high 14 kills and eight digs while Megan Maier registered 13 kills, 10 digs, two service aces and a block.
- Carley Raleigh posted a double-double with a match-high 40 assists, 11 digs and a block. Jazmine Starks added seven kills, three digs and a block in the win.
