EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry University Women's Soccer Team (8-6-3, 1-6-3 SAC) battled to the bitter end, but eventually came up just short against Lincoln Memorial University (8-5-4, 3-4-3 SAC) in the 2025 regular season finale Wednesday evening. The Lady Railsplitters scored the deciding goal with just 16 seconds remaining to escape with the 3-2 victory. The Wasps end the season with eight wins, the most for the program since transitioning to the Division II ranks.

How It Happened
- Emory & Henry were aggressive at the start of the match as freshman forward Annie Becker (Dallas, Texas) fired a shot on goal in the fourth minute that was saved by LMU goalkeeper Emma Cooke. The Lady Railsplitters responded with five shots on goal over the next 15 minutes that were all saved by senior goalkeeper Adriana Rehg (Talbott, Tenn.) to keep the match scoreless. Each team had chances to open the scoring, but neither could find the back of the net and things remained scoreless heading into the half.
- LMU was first on the board in the 60th minute when Gabby Barnes found Viktoria Filsner, who buried a shot to make it 1-0. The Lady Railsplitters increased their lead to 2-0 in the 68th minute on a goal by Jade Brown, assisted by Filsner. The Wasps had an immediate response just 11 seconds later when junior midfielder/forward Charlotte Stavis (Charlotte, N.C.) scored her SAC-leading 16th goal of the season on an assist from junior forward Siena Booth (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) to trim the deficit to 2-1. Stavis struck again in the 82nd minute on another helper from Booth to tie things up at 2-2, giving both squads everything to play for. LMU broke the hearts of the E&H faithful in the dying seconds as Camden Prosser scored on an assist from Lieve Schiphof with just 16 ticks remaining to give Lincoln Memorial the 3-2 win.

- Stavis scored her brace of goals on a match-high six shots, three of which were on frame. Stavis ends the regular season as the SAC leader in goals (17), points (35), shots (98) and shots on goal (65). Booth had a pair of assists, while four other Wasps had a shot.
- Rehg finished with six saves in net for Emory & Henry.
Lincoln Memorial Individual Leaders
- Filsner tallied a goal and an assist on four attempts at the target. Prosser and Brown accounted for the other two goals for the Lady Railsplitters while Edie Wilds recorded four shots for LMU.
- Cooke made two saves in goal to earn the win.
