EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry University Women's Soccer Team (8-5-3, 1-5-3 SAC) dropped its South Atlantic Conference match against the visiting Bulldogs of Wingate University (9-6, 5-4 SAC) Saturday afternoon. Wingate scored three times in each half on their way to the 6-1 victory.

How It Happened
- Wingate opened the scoring in the fourth minute when Angela Maino tallied an unassisted goal to put the Bulldogs on top 1-0. WU increased its lead to two in the 18th minute on a score from Ellie Polk, assisted by Gabby Agelis. The Bulldogs struck again just 51 seconds later on a goal by Audur Halldorsdottir, assisted by Maino to run their advantage out to 3-0. Emory & Henry got on the board in the 35th minute when junior midfielder Charlotte Stavis (Charlotte, N.C.) followed a shot by junior forward Hana Kirsch (Powell, Tenn.)for her SAC-leading 15th goal of the season to decrease the deficit to 3-1, where it would stand at the half.
- Wingate scored its fourth goal of the contest in the 57th minute when Halldorsdottir found Tilde Wahrenberg to make it 4-1. Halldorsdottir recorded her second tally of the contest in the 66th minute on an assist from Matilda Boyle and the Bulldogs rounded out the scoring in the 82nd minute when Madison Setzer dished to Michelle Wenger to run the score out to its final at 6-1.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Stavis paced the Wasps with a team-high four shots, two on frame, and a goal. Kirsch had both of her attempts find the target and added an assist. Freshman forward Annie Becker (Dallas, Texas) had a pair of attempts on the afternoon for E&H.
- Senior goalkeeper Adriana Rehg (Talbott, Tenn.) made seven saves in goal for the Wasps.
Wingate Individual Leaders
- Hallorsdottir led all players with a match-high six shots, three on target, while adding two goals and an assist for five total points. Polk and Wahrenberg had three attempts each while Maino, Boyle and Katie Ensalaco all had a pair of shots.
- Sydney Schnarr registered six saves for the Bulldogs to earn the win.

- The Wasps wrap up the 2025 regular season schedule at home on Wednesday, November 5 against the Lady Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. from the Food City Sports Complex.
