VENUE – Food City Sports Complex
RECORDS – Emory & Henry (6-2-2, 1-1-2 SAC); Virginia State (1-7)

How It Happened
- The two teams went back-and-forth in the early stages as the Wasps fired four shots and the Trojans had a pair of attempts, but neither could break through on the scoreboard. Emory & Henry struck first in the 25th minute when junior midfielder Charlotte Stavis (Charlotte, N.C.) passed to senior midfielder Hailey Hamilton (Elkwood, Va.), who found freshman forward Bailey Springman (Sarasota, Fla.). Springman beat the VSU keeper for her third goal of the season to make it 1-0. The Trojans continued to push, outshooting the Wasps 6-2 over the remainder of the half, but the score would hold heading into the half.
- Emory & Henry's lead would grow to two goals in the 49th minute when a wide shot ricocheted off of the VSU keeper for an own goal. The Wasps pushed their advantage out to 3-0 in the 64th minute when junior midfielder Taylor Wallace (Bristol, Va.) fed Stavis who slotted a shot into the net for her SAC-leading 10th tally of the season. Her 10 goals also places her in a tie for second in the nation. The Trojans would draw back within two with an own goal off the foot of a Wasp defender in the 84th minute, but it was too little too late as E&H earned the 3-1 victory.
