BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Emory & Henry University Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams got the 2025 season started on Friday evening, competing at the Virginia Tech Invitational. The men's squad took fifth place while the women's team was sixth.

The Women – 4K
- Junior Kennedy Harris (Mineral, Va.) finished 36th with a time of 15:43 to lead the Wasps. Senior Elise McKinney (Church Hill, Tenn.) was 46th in 16:15 while junior Maya Turner (Midland, Va.) ran a 16:53 to place 52nd.
- Sophomore Tess Somervell (Chilhowie, Va.) placed 61st with a 17:34 and junior Hannah Rosen (Falls Church, Va.) was 67th with her time of 18:19.
- Radford claimed the title, placing five runners in the top 11. Washington and Lee's Olivia Warr was the individual champion as she posted a time of 13:43.
The Men – 6K
- Senior Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) placed 18th as E&H's top finisher, running a 19:08. Junior Davis Norman (Salem, Va.) was 31st in 19:56 while junior Aidan Trautman (Centreville, Md.) stopped the watches in 20:04 to take 33rd.
- Senior Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.) finished 36th with a time of 20:16 as freshman Brady Widlake (Bristow, Va.) rounded out the Wasps' scorers in 43rd (20:54).
- Virginia Tech won the team event with the top seven runners. Nathan Atchue claimed medalist honors in 18:08, winning the race by two seconds over teammate Ethan Coleman.
