FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. – The Emory & Henry Women's Wrestling Team placed 11th at the NCAA Women's Wrestling Region III Championships. Molly Keller and Allison Gabarrete end their season just outside qualifying range with a pair of 5th place finishes.

Day 1
124 Pounds
Junior Natalia Langer (Powhatan, Va.) began her day with a pinfall victory over Huntingdon's Brooke Madden in 1:07. Langer would be pinned in her next contest against King's Virginia Foard in the first period. On the consolation side, Langer fell in her bout by pin against Anatasia Curitti from Waynesburg.
131 Pounds
Junior Mak Robinson (Spotsylvania, Va.) was pinned in both of her opening matches by Angelina Knepp from Huntingdon and Emma Flanagan from Bluefield State.
145 Pounds
Junior Molly Keller (Fairlawn, Va.) started her day in dominant fashion with a 10-0 technical superiority victory over Randolph's Jenna Moening. Her next bout came down to the wire, Keller was pinned in the last possible second against Alexandra Ford from Emmanuel in 5:59. On the consolation side, Keller got back on track with a 10-0 technical superiority victory over King's Kristyn Harr.
160 Pounds
Sophomore Rihana Carson ( Roanoke, Va.) pinned Haylie Briscoe from Delaware State midway through the second period to begin her day. Carson would be pinned in her next bout, falling to King's Stella Steigler late in the first period. On the consolation side, Carson dispatched Priscilla DeWitt from Greensboro College by technical superiority 10-0.

Freshman Allison Gabarrete (Jeffersonton, Va.) received a bye in the first round. In her first contest Gabarrete was defeated by technical superiority at the hands of Mount Olive's Zaria Robinson. On the consolation side, Gabarrete made short work of Frostburg State's Anasette Cooper, getting the pinfall victory in just over one minute.
Day 2
145 Pounds
Keller started day two off with a convincing 11-0 technical superiority victory over Greensboro's Hailie Misplay. In her next bout Keller would meet her match, falling to Amber Hunter-Snyder from Frostburg State by technical superiority 10-0 setting Keller up for the 5th place match. It was never in doubt for Keller in the bout, she led 7-0 by the end of the first period. Less than a minute into the second period Keller scored quick 4 points to win by technical superiority and claim 5th place at 145.
160 Pounds
Rihana Carson began day two with a technical superiority victory over Greensboro's Priscilla DeWitt 10-0. Carson would lose by technical superiority in her next bout to Elaina Pollock from Mount Olive 14-3.
207 Pounds
Allison Gabarrete pinned her first opponent, Anasette Cooper from Frostburg State in 1:05. Gabarrete kept rolling through the next round, pinning Christina Lisboa from Delaware State in :39. Allison was defeated by Katianna Martinez from Marymount in the consolation semis by technical superiority 15-6. The 5th place match was never close, Gabarrete dominated from the opening moment scoring 6 quick points before winning by pinfall in :55 to claim 5th place at 207.
