HARROGATE, TENN. – Emory & Henry Women's Wrestling fell 39-11 to the 8th ranked Emmanuel Lions Saturday afternoon.

The Match

-  The Wasps found themselves in a 10-0 hole against the 8th ranked team in the country due to unfilled weight classes. The first action of the afternoon happened at 124 Pounds as Junior Natalia Langer (Powhatan, Va.) would fall to Kalayah Edwards by pinfall in the 1st Period. 

- E&H would get their first points of the dual in the next contest at 131 Pounds Junior Mak Robinson (Spotsylvania, Va.) lost by technical superiority 14-3 to Isabella Hoffman. Freshman Kendi Dye (Richlands, Va.) would pick up a forfeit win at 138 Pounds. 

- Junior Molly Keller (Fairlawn, Va.) was pinned in 1:09 against Alexandra Ford. Sophomore Rihana Carson (Roanoke, Va.) overpowered her opponent, Alexzandriyah Kekoauni, into a pinfall in 1:33 earning the Wasps another 5 points. 

- That would be all of the points Emory could muster as the Wasps would forfeit two of the remaining 3 matches, and Freshman Allison Gabarrete (Jeffersonton, Va.) would hold her own but would be pinned by Gemma Templeman in 2:01.

The Wasps waste no time getting right back to the mat, as they make a stop in Bristol, Tennessee on their way back home for the Tornado Open tomorrow January 18th.
