Emory & Henry Women's Track & Field Makes History At Cregger-Bast Invitational

SALEM, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Track & Field Teams opened the 2018-19 indoor season over the weekend at the Cregger-Bast Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College. It was the first time since the winter of 1993-94 that the Wasps have competed in men's indoor track & field and the first time in school history for E&H women.

Top Performances
- Freshman Edward Rajner (Bainbridge, N.Y.) was second in the shotput at 14.26 meters.
- Freshman Tony McGuire (Chesapeake, Va.) clocked a 4:44.71 in the mile to finish at the runner-up.
- In the distance medley relay, sophomore Alette McGuire (Chesapeake, Va.), freshman Lia Haskins (Danville, Va.), senior Lauren Fleming (Troutville, Va.) and junior Erica Grupp (Charlottesville, Va.) ran a 14:26.46 to finish second.
- Fleming posted seventh-place finishes in the 300 meters (:49.48) and the 600 meters (1:57.68).
