EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Wrestling Team (0-12, 0-9 Carolinas) was defeated by No. 6 nationally-ranked Lander University (15-3, 6-0 Carolinas) and Bluefield State University (1-6, 1-6 Carolinas) inside the Martin-Brock Student Center Tuesday evening. The Bearcats topped the Wasps 49-3, while the Big Blue picked up the win by a 43-12 final margin.

The Lander Match
- The dual began at 24-0 in favor of the Bearcats due to forfeits at 125, 133, 197 and 285 pounds.
- Junior Gavin Warner (Draper, Va.) picked up a big win by a 16-9 decision for the Wasps as he defeated Dominic D'Ambrosio at 141 pounds.
- Freshman Isaac Hensley (Vilas, N.C.) was downed by a 19-3 technical fall by Garrett Wood at the 149-pound weight class.
- Fifth year Levi Field (Manassas, Va.) dropped his match to Reid Noble at 157 pounds by an 18-2 technical fall.
- Junior Sebastian Gabarrete (Jeffersonton, Va.) was defeated in a heartbreaker, dropping his decision by a narrow 2-1 margin to Ransom Randolph at 165 pounds.
- Freshman Colton Lewis (Tarboro, N.C.) was pinned in 2:53 by Xander McWilliams at 174 pounds.
- Freshman Raul Lopez-Aguilar (Ronda, N.C.) was defeated by pinfall in 3:53 against Sean Crews at the 184-pound slot.
The Bluefield State Match
- The dual began at 18-6 in favor of BSU due to forfeits at 125, 133, 197 and 285 pounds.
- Warner fell by pinfall in 3:58 to Xavier Nguyen at 141 pounds.
- Hensley lost by a 17-2 technical fall to Enrique Sanchez in the 149-pound weight class.
- Field earned a win by injury default in 17 seconds over Oluwajuwon Omotoso at 157 pounds.
- Gabarrete dropped yet another tough 4-3 decision to Kairyn Hall at 165 pounds.
- Freshman Waylon Holt (Jefferson City, Tenn.) was pinned in 1:28 by Thomas Dolo in their 174-pound match.
- Lopez-Aguilar fell by a 17-1 technical fall to Landon Marquis in the 184-pound showdown.
- Colton earned the win by forfeit at 197 pounds.
