MANHEIM, Pa. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Wrestling Team has seen two of its members named to the NWCA Scholar All-America Team for the 2024-25 season.

Sophomore Sebastian Gaberrete (Jeffersonton, Va.) and redshirt freshman Evan Alger (Pulaski, Va.) have been selected as NWCA Scholar All-Americans for the second year in a row.
These student-athletes demonstrated excellence both on the mat and in the classroom, meeting one of the following academic and athletic criteria:
- Competed in a minimum of 15 matches recorded in Trackwrestling with at least a 3.5 Cumulative GPA
- A national qualifier with at least a 3.25 Cumulative GPA
- A top-eight placer at nationals with at least a 3.0 Cumulative GPA
"The NWCA is proud to honor these outstanding individuals who demonstrate excellence on the mat and in the classroom as well," said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer.
Across all of NCAA Division II, 394 wrestlers received the award, 48 of whom compete in Conference Carolinas. Newberry College led the way with 11 honorees, followed by Coker University with eight and University of Montevallo with seven.
