Lincoln Memorial Men’s Wrestling Defeats Emory & Henry, 29-24, Wednesday Evening

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Wrestling Team (0-8, 0-6 Carolinas) came up just short to Lincoln Memorial University (1-6, 1-6 Carolinas) in a Conference Carolinas dual Wednesday evening. The Railsplitters edged the Wasps by a final score of 29-24.

The Match
- The dual began all square at 18-18 due to forfeits at 125, 133, 141, 165, 184 and 197 pounds.
- Sophomore Sebastian Gaberrete (Jeffersonton, Va.) picked up a big win for the Wasps at 174 pounds as he pinned Julian Smith in 2:10.
- Senior Tito Hernandez (Shelbyville, Tenn.) earned a win by forfeit at 125 pounds.
- Senior Levi Field (Manassas, Va.) was victorious by forfeit at 184 pounds.
- Redshirt freshman Evan Alger (Pulaski, Va.) picked up a win by forfeit at 197 pounds.

- Emory & Henry returns to the mat this Saturday, January 18 when the Wasps host the Wasps Men's Open Tournament. First bout is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. from the John Rutledge King Center.
