EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry Women's Lacrosse Team (4-10, 0-9 SAC) fell in South Atlantic Conference action to Anderson (S.C.) University (9-6, 7-2 SAC) Wednesday afternoon. The Trojans posted 11 first period goals on their way to a 23-4 victory.

How It Happened
- It was all Trojans in the first period as the visitors tallied 11 unanswered goals for the 11-0 lead. It was more of the same in the second period of play as Anderson put up four more scores to take a 15-0 advantage into the halftime break.
- The Wasps were first on the board to begin the second half when junior midfielder Justyce Jones (Jacksonville, N.C.) found senior attacker Mina Hicks (Lexington Park, Md.) who beat the goalie for her 27th goal of the year. Hicks struck again at the 8:38 mark of the third as she converted on a free-position shot to reduce the deficit to 15-2. Anderson got back into gear through the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth as they posted seven more unanswered scores to increase the margin back out to 22-2. Jones broke up the run with 4:22 remaining in the fourth when she recorded a free-position goal of her own to make it 22-3. Hicks followed just over two minutes later with an unassisted tally and the Trojans added one final goal with 35 ticks left to run the score to its final at 23-4.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Hicks led the way for the Wasps with three goals, four draw controls and three ground balls. Jones added one goal, one assist, four draw controls, one ground ball and a pair of caused turnovers.. Freshman midfielder Madison Stewart (Blacksburg, Va.) finished with five draw controls, two ground balls and caused one turnover.
- Freshman defender Jill Mayes (Raleigh, N.C.) forced a pair of turnovers while scooping up one ground ball. Freshman midfielder Whitney Holland (Rocky Mount, Va.) registered two ground balls and caused a turnover.
- Junior goalie Kaitlyn Evans (Gambrills, Md.) made nine saves in goal for the Wasps while picking up three ground balls.
Anderson Individual Leaders
- Ellie Wilkins paced the Trojans with four goals and an assist. Ava Skeffington went for three goals, one ground ball and caused one turnover while five other Trojans finished with two goals each.
- Amelia King and Sophia Fair split time in goal, combining for one save in the win.

- Emory & Henry hits the road this weekend when the Wasps travel to take on the Pioneers of Tusculum University. First draw is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from Greenville, Tennessee.
