ANDERSON, S.C. – The Emory & Henry University Women's Basketball Team (4-14, 2-10 SAC) came up short on the road in South Atlantic Conference play to Anderson (S.C.) University (8-10, 4-8 SAC) Friday afternoon. The game was moved up from Saturday due to the threat of inclement weather throughout the region. The Trojans saw four different players reach double digits in scoring on their way to the 88-66 victory.

How It Happened
- The Trojans jumped on the visiting Wasps at the beginning of the opening quarter as they ran out to a 9-2 lead over the first three minutes of action. Anderson was hot from three-point range in the first quarter as they utilized the long ball to push their lead out to 19-6 at the 3:22 mark. E&H managed to pull back within 10 at 26-16 at the end of the frame.
- A quick 6-0 run to start the second cut the Wasps' deficit to just four, but the Trojans answered with a 12-0 jaunt of their own to balloon the margin back out to 38-22. Emory & Henry battled back, finishing the half by scoring 12 of the final 15 points to make it a 41-34 contest through one half of play.
- The Wasps kept things close in the third quarter, and once more clawed back within just four points at 57-53 with 3:45 remaining in the stanza. Anderson responded by ending the quarter with a 10-2 run to push their advantage back out to double digits at 67-55 heading into the fourth.
- Anderson scored the first nine points of the final quarter as the Trojans saw their lead reach the 20-point mark for the first time in the contest with 7:39 on the clock. The home team had an answer for every attempted E&H run over the final quarter as the Trojans rolled to the 88-66 conference win.

Emory & Henry Leaders
- Freshman forward Hali Harris (Richmond, Va.) had a team-high 16 points, nine rebounds, four steals and an assist while sophomore guard Tori West (Richmond, Va.) went for 13 points, four rebounds, four steals and a pair of helpers.
- Freshman guard Julie Matheson (Boone, N.C.) recorded a career-high 12 points on four made three pointers while adding a rebound and a steal. Junior forward Gracyn Hall (Randleman, N.C.) collected seven points, six boards and a pair of steals for the Wasps.

Anderson Individual Leaders
- Ciara Harris had a big game with a double-double of 31 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, five steals and a blocked shot. Jaida Brooks registered 18 points, four assists, three rebounds and a trio of steals.
- Ashley Hill finished with 15 points, four assists, four rebounds and a blocked shot while Ashlyn Sheridan posted 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and a steal.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 22-for-61 (36.1%) from the field and 25.9% (7-for-27) from beyond the three-point arc. The Wasps were 15-for-18 (83.3%) at the free throw line.
- The Trojans converted 44.6% (33-for-74) of their attempts from the field and knocked down 13-for-29 (44.8%) of their shots from deep. Anderson was 9-for-11 (81.8%) at the charity stripe.
- Anderson collected 43 rebounds compared to 39 for the Wasps. They turned those boards into 18 second chance points while the Wasps managed 18.
- AU assisted on 27 of their 33 field goals. E&H tallied 11 helpers on their 22 converted chances from the field.
- The Wasps committed 26 turnovers while the Trojans coughed up the ball on 19 occasions. AU recorded 33 points off of those turnovers and the Wasps put up 22 points off of the Trojans' miscues.
- E&H outscored Anderson by a 30-24 margin in the painted area.
- The Trojans got out in transition, scoring 21 points on the fastbreak while the Wasps managed just six.
