Emory & Henry Women’s Basketball Recognized For Academic Success

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team has received special mention for its accomplishments in the classroom during the 2023-24 academic year, WBCA officials announced Wednesday. The WBCA is the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

E&H ended up just outside the list of the WBCA Academic Top 25 for NCAA Division II institutions. The Wasps had the 30th-best GPA amongst Division II programs, coming in at 3.625. That mark was second in the South Atlantic Conference as Wingate University was 23rd in the country (3.663).

Schools not represented in the top 25 but achieved at least a 3.0 combined GPA and qualifying for consideration in the Top 25 are listed as Special Mention.

Other SAC schools to be recognized as special mention programs were Carson-Newman University (3.538), the University of Virginia's College at Wise (3.514), Coker University (3.337) and Tusculum University (3.266).

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2023-24 season is the 29th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
