Wasps Finish Ninth At SAC Championships

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Outdoor Track & Field Team wrapped up the 2026 regular season on day two of the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday. The Wasps placed ninth out of the field of 12 schools. E&H honored the senior class of Miles Baldwin (Floyd, Va.), Tommy Henzey, IV (Salem, Va.), Zadok Laryea (Ruther Glen, Va.), Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.), Hayden Oglesby (Virginia Beach, Va.), Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.), Willie Williams (Manassas, Va.) and Aaron Wilson (Chester, Va.) following the meet.

Top Performances

Track
- Baldwin placed 18th in the 5000 meters, finishing in 15:43.50, while junior Davis Norman (Salem, Va.) was 19th in 15:44.69. Junior Aidan Trautman (Centreville, Md.) finished 24th in 16:24.90.
- The 4x400 meter relay team of juniors T.J. Pecina (Hayter's Gap, Va.), Cody Pecina (Hayter's Gap, Va.), sophomore Hayden Pugh (Louisa, Va.) and Wilson was ninth in 3:19.80. 

Field
- Sophomore Malik Guadelupe (Woodbridge, Va.) took seventh in the shot put with a throw of 13.74 meters for a pair of team points, while freshman Phillip Radford (Riner, Va.) was eighth with a 13.59-meter throw for another team point and fellow freshman Brock Ayers (Austinville, Va.) was ninth with his toss of 13.43 meters.
- Junior Drew Craft (Covington, Va.) placed 13th in the triple jump with a distance of 13.04 meters, while freshman TaiShaun Cooks (Forest, Va.) finished 15th with a leap of 12.90 meters.
- Freshman Carson Stanley (Wytheville, Va.) was 16th in the javelin with a throw of 38.57 meters.
- Craft tied for eighth in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.86 meters to earn half of a team point.
