ROCK HILL, S.C. – Emory & Henry University sophomore Will Humphrey, II has been selected as the South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, SAC officials announced Tuesday. This year, the SAC Players of the Week are being sponsored by WePlayed Sports. 

This marks the first time in Humphrey's career that he has earned weekly honors from the league.

Humphrey is part of Emory & Henry's clean sweep of the SAC Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week this week. Junior Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.), junior Madison Ricketts (Kingsport, Tenn.) and freshman Mia Spangler (Floyd, Va.) also received recognition for their accomplishments.

The Charlotte, North Carolina native picked up a pair of event wins in record-breaking times at the inaugural Blue & Gold Track Classic at E&H's Food City Sports Complex on Saturday. He won the 100 meters in 10.33 seconds and also claimed the top spot in the 200 meters at 21.55 seconds.

Emory & Henry will compete in the South Atlantic Conference Championships beginning on Wednesday. Lenoir-Rhyne University will host the two-day meet at Irwin Belk Track at the Moretz Sports Complex.
