ABINGDON, Va. - The Emory & Henry University Men's Tennis Team (0-7) and Women's Tennis Team (1-6) each fell in non-conference play to Bluefield State University Sunday afternoon. The Big Blue took both matches by 6-1 scores.

Men's Match
- The team of freshman Bangalie Turay (Las Vegas, Nev.) and sophomore Leo Knothe (Hanover, GERMANY) earned a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles. Seniors Nathan Spurling (Abingdon, Va.) and Tristan Hicks (Abingdon, Va.) were defeated 3-6 at No. 2 doubles. Seniors Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.) and Gus Senn (Charlotte, N.C.) forced a tiebreak, but came up short 6-7 (4-7) at the No. 3 doubles spot.
- Turay was defeated 1-6, 0-6 by Said Santin at No. 1 singles.
- Spurling fell 3-6, 3-6 to Adam Greenberg in their No. 2 singles match.
- Glago picked up a win at No. 3 singles, defeating Alessandro Perez 6-3, 6-7(3-7), 1-0(10-5) in a three-set battle.
- Knothe was beaten 2-6, 4-6 by Pablo Garcia in the No. 4 singles spot.
- Hicks came up short by a 3-6, 3-6 margin to Maksimilijan Lestaric at No. 5 singles.
- Senn fell to Mateo Aldaz by a 3-6, 2-6 score at No. 6 singles.
Women's Match
- The partnership of senior Katie Bradley (Auchterarder, SCOTLAND) and sophomore Ellyson Kovacs (Bristol, Tenn.) were victorious by a 6-4 margin at No. 2 doubles. The team of sophomore Tahnne Sesma (Zumaia, SPAIN) and junior Olivia Pursley (Hendersonville, N.C.) put up a fight at No. 1 doubles, but fell by a narrow 6-7(1-7) scoreline. The Big Blue earned the doubles point by walkover at No. 3 doubles.
- Sesma trailed Ekin Ozmen 4-6 in their No. 1 singles match when it was retired.
- Pursley downed Raajitha Koganti by a 6-2, 6-3 score at No. 2 singles.
- Kovacs forced a third-set tiebreaker, but came up just short to Anna Felip Ayora 6-4, 3-6, 0-1(6-10) in their No. 3 singles match.
- Bradley fell in a close match, 4-6, 6-7(9-11) to Sirisha Dheer at the No. 4 singles spot.
- Freshman Sarah McClure (Lansing, N.C.) was defeated by a 1-6, 0-6 score against Adriana Tejada at No. 5 singles.
- The Big Blue won the No. 6 singles match by walkover to clinch the victory.
