King (Tenn.) Men’s Tennis Tops Emory & Henry, 6-1, In Non-Conference Action

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry University Men's Tennis Team (0-2) and Women's Tennis Team (0-2) fell to border rival King (Tenn.) University. The Tornado men's program earned the win by a 6-1 final while the women's team defeated the Wasps 5-2.

Men's Match
- The doubles team of seniors Gus Senn (Charlotte, N.C.) and Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.) were victorious over Ben Jones and Maximillian Kellner at No. 2 doubles by a 6-4 final. The Tornado won the other two doubles matches for the early 1-0 lead.
- Sophomore Leo Knothe (Hanover, GERMANY) defeated Jones in a three-set battle at No. 4 singles 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8).
- Senior Tristan Hicks (Abingdon, Va.) dropped a tough 6-4, 2-6, 0-1 (8-10) decision to Kellner at the No. 5 singles position.

Women's Match
- Juniors Karlie Quinn (Mocksville, N.C.) and Olivia Pursley (Hendersonville, N.C.) teamed up for a 6-4 win against Rani Malhoe and Sarah Hale at the No. 3 doubles position. King took the other doubles matchups for the 1-0 advantage.
- Pursley was victorious at the No. 2 singles spot as she took down Shellby Tranchita 7-6 (10-8), 2-6, 1-0 (10-1).
- Senior Katie Bradley (Auchterarder, SCOTLAND) topped Trinity Moore at No. 4 singles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
- Junior Meghan Moore (Midlothian, Va.) fell in three sets by a narrow 6-3, 4-6, 0-1 (6-10) scoreline to Ruth Robison in the No. 5 singles spot.

- The Wasps will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule on Wednesday, October 15 when they host the Royals of Johnson (Tenn.) University. First serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. from the Richardson Tennis Courts.
