Emory & Henry Men’s Swimming Remains Sixth After Day Three Of SAC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams kept rolling through the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Friday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The women's team remains fifth while the men are still sixth.

The Women
- Event 19 – 500-Yard Freestyle – Junior Mackenzie Barnett (Monroe Township, N.J.) turned in a fourth-place finish with a school-record time of 5:02.72. That performance marked the first-ever NCAA Division II "B-Cut" in program history. Junior Peyton Helscher (Simi Valley, Calif.) was 19th, stopping the watches in 5:31.55 while freshman Jaxon Thurman (Ooltewah, Tenn.) was 23rd (5:37.13) and sophomore Maggie Robinson (Canton, Ga.) was 24th (5:41.07). In the preliminaries, sophomore Bri Digby (Carrollton, Va.) was the second alternate, finishing 26th at 6:39.99 while sophomore Vivian Vanderpool (Elgin, Okla.) took 27th.
- Event 21 – 100-Yard Backstroke – Sophomore Samantha Pepevnik (Porsgrunn, NORWAY) finished 12th, clocking a 1:00.10.
- Event 23 – 100-Yard Breaststroke – Junior Rachel Ritter (Gibsonville, N.C.) took 16th, swimming a 1:10.17. Junior Hope Christensen (Moroni, Utah) was 17th at 1:08.77 while sophomore Jill Koler (Manassas, Va.) placed 20th (1:10.10).
- Event 25 – 200-Yard Butterfly – Junior Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.) swam a 2:11.30 to finish in 11th place while sophomore Gabby Sadosky (Las Vegas, Nev.) was 18th, touching the wall in 2:27.01.
- Event 27 – 800-Yard Freestyle Relay – The Wasps finished fourth at 8:00.21 on the efforts of Gelenski, Pepevnik, Sadosky and Barnett.

The Men
- Event 20 – 500-Yard Freestyle – Sophomore Max Betzer (Cumming, Ga.) was 18th, posting a time of 5:00.78. Sophomore Jordan Krafft (Waxhaw, N.C.) took 22nd (5:33.27) while freshman Lucas Cheuvront (Newport News, Va.) placed 23rd (5:43.47).
- Event 22 – 100-Yard Backstroke – Junior Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.) turned in a time of :53.61 to place 16th.
- Event 24 – 100-Yard Breaststroke – Freshman Ryan Teuton (Chattanooga, Tenn.) placed 19th, swimming a 1:01.52 with sophomore Caleb Patton (Marion, Va.) and freshman Peter Davis (Manassas, Va.) close behind in 20th (1:01.91) and 21st (1:03.48), respectively. Freshman Alexander Hubbard (Davidson, N.C.) was the second alternate at 26th (1:10.21) with sophomore Nate Perez (San Antonio, Texas) finishing 27th.
- Event 26 – 200-Yard Butterfly – Freshman Noah Day (Milton, Fla.) went a 1:56.81 to finish ninth and break his own school record.
- Event 28 – 800-Yard Freestyle Relay – E&H closed the day, finishing sixth as Betzer, Krafft, Patton and Day turned in a time of 7:33.41.
