Sophomore midfielder Caleb Mims (Kingsport, Tenn.) followed suit less than a minute later with an unassisted tally of his own to give E&H their first lead of the contest at 2-1. The Mountain Lions would score 26 seconds later and the match was all square at 2-2 through one period of play.
- YHC was first on the board once more in the second, but Nguyen recorded his sixth goal of the weekend with 7:35 on the clock to tie the match once more at 3-3. Young Harris would come to life late in the period, scoring three unanswered goals to take the 6-3 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
- The home team put up two more goals to begin the second half and saw their lead grow to 8-3. Nguyen completed his hat trick at the 6:04 mark as he took a pass from Mims and beat the YHC goalie to trim the deficit to 8-4. Three more goals by the Mountain Lions created some breathing room at 11-4 heading into the final quarter.
- Emory & Henry wasted no time to start the fourth quarter as sophomore midfielder David Mewes (Greenville, S.C.) put a shot that found the back of the net to reduce the margin to 11-5, just over a minute into the quarter. That was as close as the Wasps would get however, as Young Harris would go on to score the final five goals of the contest to earn the 16-5 win.
