JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Basketball Team (14-11, 9-10 SAC) came up on the short end of its South Atlantic Conference showdown with Carson-Newman University (16-9, 11-8 SAC) inside Holt Fieldhouse Wednesday evening. The Eagles got revenge on the Wasps after E&H defeated C-N in Emory earlier this season, defeating the visitors by a 92-69 margin.

How It Happened
- The game was tied at 6-6 after the opening three minutes, but the Eagles would utilize a 9-0 run over the following three minutes to establish a 15-6 lead. The Wasps managed to slice the deficit to three at 17-14 on a three-point jumper by senior guard Yaturi Bolton (Charleston, S.C.), but C-N went on another run, this of the 8-1 variety to increase their margin to double digits for the first time at 25-15. Carson-Newman continued to score the basketball and a jumper just before the break gave them a 45-26 lead at the half.
- It was more of the same to begin the second half, as C-N tallied the first eight points to increase their lead out to 27. It was all Eagles in the second half as they saw their lead grow to as many as 30 on their way to the 92-69 win. 

Emory & Henry Leaders
- Sophomore guard Korbin Dixon (Milton, Ontario, CANADA) posted a team-high 13 points, three assists, two rebounds, one steal and a block while junior guard Jackson Crawford (Daleville, Va.) had 12 points, two assists and a steal.
- Junior forward Jalen Smith (San Antonio, Texas) went for a season-high 11 points and an assist while Bolton added 11 points, four rebounds and an assist.

Carson-Newman Individual Leaders
- Jack Browder collected a double-double with a game-high 24 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and a blocked shot. Braden Ilic recorded 21 points, three rebounds, a pair of assists and a pair of blocks.
- Keliese Frye registered 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block while Matt Bilbrey finished with 16 points, four assists, one rebound and a steal in the win.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry was 25-for-65 (38.5%) from the field and 13-for-34 (38.2%) from deep. The Wasps made 66.7% (6-for-9) of their attempts at the charity stripe.
- Carson-Newman shot an impressive 57.9% (33-for-57) overall and an astounding 68.8% (11-for-16) from beyond the three-point line. The Eagles converted 88.2% (15-for-17) of their trips to the free throw line.
- The Eagles outrebounded the Wasps 40-26 and put up 17 second chance points compared to 10 for E&H.
- C-N assisted on 24 of their 33 made field goals while E&H had 17 helpers on their 25 buckets.
- The Wasps forced 12 Eagle turnovers that they turned into 15 points. Carson-Newman made E&H give up the basketball on 10 occasions, converting those miscues into 13 points.
- Carson-Newman outscored Emory & Henry by a 32-22 margin in the paint.
- E&H got out in transition, putting up 15 points on the fastbreak compared to just two for C-N.
