HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University Men's Basketball Team (6-4, 3-2 SAC) shot over 60 percent from the field on their way to a South Atlantic Conference win over visiting Emory & Henry University (6-4, 2-3 SAC) Wednesday night inside B. Frank "Tex" Turner Arena. The Wasps kept things within shouting distance in the first half, but the Railsplitters pulled away in the second for the 89-60 victory.

How It Happened
- The teams could not be separated to begin the game and the score stood all square at 11-11 with 12:29 remaining in the opening stanza. An 8-0 run over the following three minutes saw the Railsplitters create some distance at 21-13. The Wasps responded with a 10-2 run of their own and pulled back level with LMU 23-23 at the 4:51 mark on the back of a three-point jumper from freshman guard Melchior Hughes (Geneva, SWITZERLAND). Lincoln Memorial would finish the half on a 13-5 rally to take a 36-28 lead into the locker room at the break.
- The Railsplitters shot the lights out to begin the second half, as they pushed their advantage out to 57-37 with just over 14 minutes left. LMU continued to fill up the basket and they saw their lead grow to 68-39. The Wasps battled back with another 14-2 run to pull back within 17, but that was as close as the visitors from Emory would get. Lincoln Memorial poured it on down the stretch as they pulled away for the 89-60 win.
Emory & Henry Leaders
- Hughes paced the Wasps with 15 points, one rebound an assist on 5-for-6 shooting from beyond the three-point arc. Sophomore guard Korbin Dixon (Milton, Ontario, CANADA) registered 11 points, six rebounds and an assist.
- Sophomore forward Isaac Hymes (Phoenix, Ariz.) collected 10 points, a pair of rebounds and a blocked shot while junior guard Jackson Crawford (Daleville, Va.) added eight points and a pair of assists.
Lincoln Memorial Individual Leaders
- Ahmad Jarrad led all scorers with a game-high 16 points, one rebound and a steal. Yassin Hussein had 11 points, two rebounds, one steal and a block off of the bench.
- Emmanuel James posted a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and a steal while Nate Mims had 11 points and four boards in the win for the Railsplitters.
A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry was 34.9 percent (22-for-63) from the field, hitting nine three-pointers (29.0%). The Wasps went 7-for-10 (70.0%) at the free throw line.
- LMU shot a red-hot 37-of-61 (60.7%) overall and was 4-for-12 (33.3%) from deep. The Railsplitters converted 91.7 percent (11-of-12) of their free throws.
- The Railsplitters outrebounded the Wasps 31-24, and held a 10-6 advantage on second chance points.
