Emory & Henry Football Chosen Fourth In SAC Coaches’ Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Emory & Henry University Football Team has been picked to finish in fourth place in the South Atlantic Conference this year by the league's head coaches. The poll was released by the SAC office on Monday. E&H finished in a three-way tie for third overall in the league last year with a 9-2 record, with a second-place finish in the Mountain Division at 6-2.

Lenoir-Rhyne University is picked to win the league with six first-place votes. Wingate University is second in the poll with two top nods while Carson-Newman is third with the final two first-place picks. E&H rounds out the top four selections.

Additionally, the SAC has announced its Preseason Players to Watch with six Wasps making the list. Senior wide receiver Cam Peoples (Reidsville, N.C.), senior running back Jordan Jackson (Richmond, Va.) and senior offensive lineman Deshaun Sharp (Spotsylvania, Va.) were selected on the offensive side of the ball while senior defensive back Shawn Collins (Salem, Va.), senior defensive back Jarrell Harrison (Virginia Beach, Va.) and junior defensive lineman Ean Rhea (Glade Spring, Va.) were the defensive selections for E&H. 

Emory & Henry gets the 2025 season underway on Saturday, August 31 in a neutral site showdown against Glenville State University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from Herbert Hoover High School in Elkview, W.Va..
