The Virginia Beach, Virginia native helped lead E&H to a thrilling 17-10 win over No. 17 Carson-Newman University Saturday at home. He posted 11 stops on the afternoon, with a team-high 3.5 tackles for loss. Three of his tackles behind the line of scrimmage were solo stops as he was instrumental in containing the Eagles' option attack. Harrison's biggest play of the game came with 1:19 remaining when he picked off a pass at the E&H 28 to stop a C-N drive and put the Wasps' offense back on the field to seal the victory.
This is the fourth time this season that an E&H player has earned weekly league honors and the second for a defensive player. Cam Peoples (Week 0 – Offense), Chendrick Cann (Week 3 – Defense) and Trace Butcher (Week 5 – Special Teams) have also been recognized by the SAC Office this year.
Harrison has made 37 tackles, 6.5 for a loss, over the course of the year. He has two interceptions and has defended an additional seven passes as part of a defense that leads NCAA Division II in takeaways (25) and interceptions (19). E&H is currently second in the country in turnover margin at +13.
Emory & Henry (7-1, 5-1 SAC) visits Mars Hill University (3-3, 3-2 SAC) in a key SAC Mountain Division contest on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Wasps still control their own destiny as they look to qualify for the league championship game on November 16.
