BRISTOL, Va. – Fresh on the heels of their 20th national championship, the Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College teams have set their schedules for the fall 2018 season. The Wasps will participate in six Intercollegiate Horse Shows Assocation (IHSA) events, three Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) shows and one Tournament of Champions competition.
E&H will kick off the year on Saturday, September 29 with an IHSA show at Averett University and then travel to Bridgewater on Sunday, September 30 to begin its IDA title defense at Bridgewater College.
On Saturday, October 6, the Wasps will compete at Wake Forest University's IHSA show and then visit Virginia Tech for an IDA competition on Sunday, October 7.
Four straight IHSA shows begin with a visit to Virginia Tech on Saturday, October 13 and continue with the annual High Point University doubleheader on the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, October 21-22. E&H will close out the IHSA slate for the fall when it hosts a show on Saturday, November 17.
Emory & Henry will compete in the Holiday Tournament of Champions show on Saturday, December 1. The show will take place at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio.
A home IDA show on Sunday, December 2 will close out the fall portion of the schedule.
With 20 team national championships and 32 individual national championships in its history, Intermont Equestrian is one of the most decorated programs in the country. Since the program was absorbed by Emory & Henry in the fall of 2014, the Wasps have accounted for nine of those titles (three team, six individual).
