Emory & Henry is one of four schools from the South Atlantic Conference and 88 NCAA Division II programs to receive the honor. It is the third consecutive year and sixth time in the past seven years that the Wasps have earned the honor.

The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award is given to teams which post a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the academic year. This year, 440 programs from all levels of college baseball (NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA and Junior College) were recognized for their academic success.

The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. The ABCA's awards program includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/ATEC Regional & National Coaches of the Year and several other major awards such as the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.

Emory & Henry tied a program record with 17 wins during the 2025 season as the Wasps finished with an overall mark of 17-33, 8-22 in South Atlantic Conference competition.
