GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Baseball Team has been named an ABCA Team of Academic Excellence by the American Baseball Coaches Association. It is the third-straight year that the Wasps have achieved the designation. E&H is one of two teams from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and 146 NCAA Division III programs to earn the honor.

The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award is given to teams which post a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the academic year. This year, 380 programs from all levels of college baseball (NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA and Junior College) were recognized for their academic success.

The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. The ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams are the nation's oldest, founded in 1949, and the ABCA's awards program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/Diamond Regional & National Coaches of the Year, the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
