Emory & Henry Men's Tennis Takes Down Lynchburg, 8-1, Saturday In ODAC Play

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (10-2, 5-1 ODAC) rolled to an 8-1 victory over Lynchburg College (4-6, 1-5 ODAC) Saturday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action at the E&H Tennis Courts.

The Wasps picked up all three points in doubles action paced by senior Webster Gilley (Bristol, Tenn.) and freshman James Keighley (Heswall, Mercyside, ENGLAND) as they won, 8-0, at the second doubles flight.

In singles play, senior Matt Nelson (Galax, Va.) blanked his opponent at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0, while senior Zach Eccher (Madison, Ala.)  picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at the six spot. Freshman Alex Minasyan (Moscow, RUSSIA) won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.

Emory & Henry will host Guilford College on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The match will be played concurrently with the Wasp women who will also face the Quakers.
