Scott Ambrose is in his third year as Faculty Athletic Representative at Emory & Henry College. As FAR, Ambrose acts as a liaison between the athletic and academic realms of the College and serves as a member of the College’s Athletic Life Committee.

Ambrose also helps to identify students who may need additional aid in the classroom, those dealing with the challenges of adjusting to college life and also nominates student-athletes for awards and scholarships. Ambrose is the 2011 recipient of the Athletic Department’s Fanelli Award for service to women’s athletics.

Each member of the NCAA is required to “designate an individual to serve as Faculty Athletic Representative,” (NCAA Constitution 6.1.3).  The FAR is “a member of an Institution’s faculty or administrative staff who is designated by the Institution’s president… to represent the Institution and its faculty in the Institution’s relationships with the NCAA and its conference,” (Constitution 4.02.2).

Ambrose is also an Assistant Professor of the College’s business faculty, a post he has held since 2006. Some of the courses he teaches include Operations Management, International Business, Human Resources Management and Management Policy & Strategy. He has also served as a member of many committees and in advisory roles during his time at E&H.

Prior to coming to Emory & Henry, Ambrose was an adjunct instructor at Gwinnett College of Business in addition to having careers with Delta Airlines and in the pharmaceutical industry.

Ambrose received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Presbyterian College in 1994, where he was a four-year member of the Blue Hose tennis team and was named Academic All-America and a captain as a senior. He earned his MBA from Georgia State University in 2003.
