LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Track & Field Teams concluded the 2018-19 season on Saturday at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Randolph College. The men's team posted a seventh-place finish behind a strong performance by the throwers while the women were 10th.

Emory & Henry got its first men's individual ODAC Champion since the 1988 track & field season as junior Trel Phillips (Ooltewah, Tenn.) won the shot put with a school record throw of 14.55 meters. Junior Justin Fannon (Abingdon, Va.) was third (13.84m) while freshman Edward Rajner (Bainbridge, N.Y.) took fourth (13.24m).
Rajner was the league runner-up in the discus with a mark of 42.02 meters, good for a school record while Phillips (seventh) freshman Cooper Saunders (Charlottesville, Va.) (eighth) and Fannon (10th) each finished inside the top 10. Rajner added a ninth-place finish in the hammer with a new program best of 37.45 meters while Saunders added a 15th-place mark with a throw of 27.30 meters in the javelin
In the sprints, freshman Jay Kreimes (Sharps, Va.) was 12th in the 100 meters at :11.35 and 21st in the 200 (:23.81). Sophomore Conor White (Warrenton, Va.) posted a new E&H best of :51.70 in the 400 meters to take 13th while sophomore Jackson Kaze (Midlothian, Va.) was 19th in the 800 meters (2:08.65). Sophomore Markell Moss (Wytheville, Va.) posted a 13th-ploace finish in the 110-meter hurdles at :18.72.
Kaze posted a 12th-place finish in the 1,500 meters (4:22.05) while freshman Lucas Biggerstaff (Knoxville, Tenn.) was 18th in the 5,000 meters, stopping the watches in 18:34.56.
In the relays, freshman Ahdonis Turay (Manassas, Va.), freshman Deonte Geddis (Summerville, S.C.), Moss and Kreimes took eighth in the 4x100 meters, breaking the school record at :43.70 while Kreimes, White, Kaze and Geddis went 3:36.32 finished seventh in the 4x400 meters for another top mark.
Freshman Taylor Gilbert (Abingdon, Va.) took 11th in the high jump with a height of 1.47 meters to give the Wasps their best finish of the weekend.
Freshman Lorin Zehr (Holly Pond, Ala.) set three new school records as she finished 14th in the discus (30.48m), 15th in the javelin (21.03m) and 18th in the hammer throw (28.98m). Junior Graysen Barrs (Abingdon, Va.) tied her own record in the 100 meters as she finished 16th, stopping the watches at :13.49 and established a new E&H best in the 200 meters (:28.08) with another 16th-place finish.
Bridgewater College won the men's championship by one point over Washington and Lee University. The University of Lynchburg ran away with the women's title, besting Bridgewater by nearly 80 points.
