BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Emory & Henry College senior forward Tyequis Stallins (Chesapeake, Va.) has been named to the VaSID Men's Soccer All-State Second Team, VaSID officials announced Tuesday. VaSID is the Virginia Sports Information Directors.

It is the third time in four years that a Wasp has been recognized as one of the top men's soccer players in Virginia as Jordan Couch was tabbed to the second team in 2015 and the first team in 2016.

Stallins, the first three-time All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference selection in program history, scored 13 goals on the year and assisted on two others, pushing his career total to 31 goals, 13 assists and 75 points.

Stallins also added a team-best three match-winners for program record-tying eight career match-winning scores. His 13 goals this year tie for third most in a season, while his 28 points are fourth-best. Stallins' three-match winners in 2018 tie the school record.  The striker finishes his career ranked second in goals scored, second in total points, and third in assists.

Stallins scored a pair of hat tricks at the University of Valley Forge (Sept. 1) and at Hiwassee College (Oct. 11), and earned ODAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors on September 17 after leading E&H to a 2-0 week against Warren Wilson College and Johnson University with two goals and two assists.

Justin Carey of the University of Mary Washington was named State Player of the Year while Eagle mentor Jason Kilby was honored as State Coach of the Year. Christopher Newport University's Tanner Dail was tabbed as State Rookie of the Year.

The VaSID All-State teams are selected by sports information directors of member institutions of the Virginia Sports Information Directors across the Commonwealth of Virginia. VaSID, founded in 1983, selects teams in two divisions (University and College) for 12 sports and three single-division teams in addition to Academic All-State teams across all sports.
