Tommy Buzzo is entering his second year as an Assistant Football Coach at Emory & Henry College. He will serve as the Wasps defensive coordinator and work with the team's linebackers after previously coaching in the defensive backfield.
Buzzo joined Emory & Henry after spending four seasons as the Head Football Coach at Brooke Point High School in Stafford, Virginia where he led the Blackhawks to four-straight appearances in the VHSL 5A State Playoffs. He served for two seasons as the linebackers coach and co-Defensive Coordinator at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut, a member of the NCAA Division I Northeast Conference.
Buzzo was the Head Coach at Liberty High School in Bealeton, Virginia for 11 years where he was a four-time district coach of the year and twice served as a coach for the VHSCA State All-Star Game. Prior to his entrance into the coach world, Buzzo worked for the Roanoke City Police for six and a half years as a uniform officer and a narcotics investigator.
A native of Bluefield, West Virginia, Buzzo played college football at Glenville State University and Concord College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concord in 1993. he holds a master's degree in educational administration from Shenandoah University, which he earned in 2002.
