Melissa Davis is entering her 11th year with Emory & Henry College Athletics and her first as Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Performance. Davis will continue to serve as Head Athletic Trainer, a post she has held for the past seven years, and Senior Woman Administrator, which she became during the summer of 2014.
As Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Performance, Davis will have administrative oversight of the Robert W. Gibson, III Weight Room and the Emory & Henry Aquatics Center in addition to the athletic training clinic.
In addition to leading the operations of the Athletic Training Department, Davis currently serves as the Athletic Trainer for the men's soccer, women’s basketball and softball teams at E&H. She has previously worked with the Wasps’ football, women’s swimming and women’s soccer programs and the Intermont Equestrian teams.
Prior to coming to Emory, Davis served three years as Head Athletic Trainer at Tennessee High School in Bristol, Tenn.
Davis earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Emory & Henry in 2002, where she also was a pitcher on the Wasps’ softball team. She received her Master of Arts degree in 2005 from East Tennessee State University. A native of Richlands, Va., Davis now resides in Chilhowie.
