RADFORD, Va.—The Emory & Henry swim team competed with only three swimmers at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Atlantic States Championships last weekend, showing other teams that size doesn’t matter.

“The team swam harder than they have in the past in their individual events and set new school records,” said Head Coach Jessica Hurd.

Senior Virginia Lamb, junior Catie Neal and first-year student Caroline Haynes represented the College with determination. Lamb set school records in the 200 fly and 50 freestyle, placing 13th in the latter event with a time of 27.61. Neal set school records in the 400 individual medley and 100 backstroke and placed 14th and 12th respectively. Haynes, E&H’s long distance swimmer placed 17th in the 1650 free and 13th in the 200 breast.

The swim team ended its season with a conference record of 0-5 and an overall record of 1-8.
