SALEM, Va. (Jan. 26, 2010) -- Roanoke College handed the Emory & Henry women's basketball team a loss Tuesday, the latest in a string of defeats for the Wasps as they try to regain their footing midway through the season.
Roanoke led throughout the game, finishing the first half on top by nine points and expanding that deficit in the second half to finish the game ahead 73-57.
Emory & Henry was led in scoring by Christina Howard and Sarah Petty, each of whom scored 11 points, followed by Baylie Snyder who had 10 points. Snyder also led in rebounds with six, while Petty led in assists with three.
Over the weekend, the Wasps dropped another conference match-up, falling on their home court to Washington and Lee University 45-55. Although the team led for most of the first half, the Wasps were not able to put away the Generals, shooting only 30 percent from the field while committing 21 turnovers.
Petty led both teams with 22 points and made eight rebounds.
