Recruiting
Since its inception in 1995, the E&H softball team has improved at a tremendous pace, posing a serious challenge to its ODAC competitors. In the past seven years, the team has continually improved its record. The team won the ODAC Championship in 2003 and posted a fourth place finish in the the NCAA Atlantic Regional Tournament. Topping off the season, coach Shannon Farley was named Virginia State Co-Coach of the Year. Not only does the team boast a tremendous record, but also many award-winning players. Mandy Smith was named 2003 Virginia State Player of the Year on the College Division All-State Softball Team by the Virginia Sports Information Directors and named to the NFCA All-America Second Team. In 2002, Sarah Cordill was named ODAC Player of the Year and Co-State Player of the Year, and in recent seasons Katy Dowe, Sarah Caldwell and Ashley Neese all earned First Team Academic All-District honors.
