EMORY, Va. (Oct. 20, 2009) -- The Emory & Henry volleyball team will be looking to extend its winning streak to five Friday when it goes up against conference foe Randolph-Macon College at home.

On Tuesday, the Wasps scored their fourth consecutive win with a 3-0 victory over Sweet Briar College (25-10; 25-12; 25-17). That followed a three-set victory (25-14, 25-11, 25-15) the previous Thursday against Randolph College.

The challenge will be greater for the Wasps (16-4, 4-3) against the ODAC's current top seed Yellow-Jackets, which has beaten two teams to which the Wasps have fallen, Bridgewater and Eastern Mennonite.

The Wasps, however, are hoping that recent wins will set them up to pose a strong challenge to Randolph-Macon. In the last two matches, several players made significant contributions, giving them individual as well as team momentum as they go into Friday's match.

Against Sweet Briar, Emory & Henry dominated, led by Rachel Fertitta with 10 kills and five blocks and Tessa Burton, who made seven kills and four blocks. Selena Trichel put in for 14 digs while Reagan Clarke struck 27 assists.

In the match against Randolph, Fertitta provided 11 kills and three blocks whle Kim Caudil contributed six kills and three blocks, and Erin Holben added five kills. Twyla Sessor provided 12 digs while Holben added 11.
