ODAC Honors E&H Volleyball Athlete

The leader in kills in Old Dominion Athletic Conference volleyball competition piled on more kills during a tournament over the weekend, earning her ODAC Player of the Week honors.

Emory & Henry's Rachel Feritta led the Wasps with an average of 5.07 kills per game during the past weekend, as the team went 2-1 at the Sewannee Tournament. Fertitta also had a .353 hitting percentage, 1.2 blocks per game and 6.23 points per game.

The Wasps defeated Hutingdon College and Sewannee University of the South both 3-0 and lost to Piedmont College 2-3, boosting their record to 20-6 before they compete in the ODAC tournament Friday.

Against Huntingdon, Fertitta posted 14 kills and seven blocks while Reagan Clarke added 20 assists and Twyla Sessor put in with 14 digs. In the match against Sewannee, Fertitta again led with kills (17) while making five blocks. Clarke added 27 assists while Sessor was in for 13 digs. Feritta put in for 24 more kills and five more blocks in the Wasps' match against Piedmont College. Kim Caudill put in for 10 kills wile Clark added 45 assists and Sessor put in for 25 digs.

A sophomore from Roanoke, Fertitta leads the ODAC in overall kills (406), kills per game (4.37), overall blocks (119) and blocks per game (1:28). She is second in the league with a .370 hitting percentage.
