Softball head coach Kristen Diamond brings to her work an emphasis on hard work, team unity and self-confidence.
Diamond holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of South Carolina Upstate, where she played left field for four years. For eight years, she coached an 18-and-under travel team, the Carolina Cyclones, the success of which led to three Coach of the Year honors for Diamond.
Her coaching career has given her experience with a wide range of student athletes, including students from Division I and Division II schools. In every stage of her career she has emphasized the importance of individual and team pride, which help build the enthusiasm and motivation to win.
She relishes the opportunities to mold student athletes, not just as competitors but as individuals prepared for the challenges of life. “As coaches, we have the benefit and advantage of working with young athletes and have a part in molding them into successful citizens one day.”
