EMORY, Va. (Sept. 24, 2009) -- The No. 1 E&H men's tennis duo of Chip Wintringham and Matt Nelson created some excitement on their home tennis courts as they defeated their division II Concord University doubles competition in a tie-breaking set Thursday.
Sophomore Wintringham and first-year Nelson kept spectators on edge as they fought the match down to the last set, winning 9-8. Nelson returned in singles competition scoring the only singles match win for Emory & Henry, 6-4, 6-3.
The men were defeated by Concord, 2-7.
