DANVILLE, Ky. (Dec. 29, 2010) -- Terrance Grigg led Emory & Henry to a 73-70 victory over LaGrange College, helping the Wasps snap an eight-game losing streak while scoring more than 30 points for the second time in two contests.
For his efforts Grigg was named Most Valuable Player during the Centre Invitational Tournament that featured the game between Emory & Henry and LaGrange. He averaged 31 points per game during the tournament and leads the Wasps this season with 18.7 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game.
Grigg, who scored 32 points against LaGrange, also scored more than 30 points in the E&H loss to Centre College on the previous day.
Meanwhile, Emory & Henry's JD Dyson, who scored 18 points against LaGrange, missed his first foul shot of the season after notching an E&H record 43 consecutive successful free throws. Now 45 off 46 for the season, Dyson connected on 11 of 12 from the foul line in the last six minutes of the game to help secure the E&H win.
The previous E&H record for consecutive successful free throws was 26, set in 1980.
Dyson also added four assists and four steals against LaGrange while Josh Rigney had 12 rebounds and 14 points for the Wasps.
