He has gone 4-1 in singles playing at No. 4 and 7-1 at No. 5. The first-year student who plays consistently through tough matches also, as of March 21, notched a 10-1 overall record in doubles with Adam Henderson, another first-year tennis player with an impressive singles record.

- Mathew NelsonSO5'9"Galax, VA / Galax HighA first-year student from Galax, Va., Nelson has played impressively at the No. 2 singles spot on the E&H men's tennis team. He holds a 12-3 overall singles record and, with partner Chip Wintringham, a 14-2 doubles record. After an undefeated record during spring break competition, he received ODAC Player of the Week honors. His achievements him among the top players in the conference, while his youthfulness provides a long-term foundation for the team's continued success.

- David "Chip" WintringhamJR5'11"Burlington, NC / Greensboro DayChip Wintringham completed an impressive fall season for the E&H men's tennis team in 2009. A sophomore playing at No. 1 for the Wasps, Wintringham knocked off a top-ranked athlete from Washington and Lee University to reach the semi-finals of the ODAC Singles Championship. In the spring of 2009, he was named First Team All-ODAC at No. 2 singles and Second Team All-ODAC at No. 1 doubles. A sports medicine major, Chip was a member of the All-Conference team three years in high school. He enjoys mathematics and the Dave Matthews Band.
