Billy Ray Stutzmann is entering his first year as the passing game coordinator and his third year on staff at Emory & Henry College. Stutzmann will continue to work with the Wasps’ corps of wide recievers and takes on the additional duties as passing game coordinator after previously coaching the defensive backs.

Stutzmann coached the running backs at Western New Mexico University during the 2014 season where he was the mentor to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s freshman offensive player of the year.

Stutzmann played four years of college football at wide receiver for the University of Hawai’i. As a senior in 2013, he caught 22 balls for 358 yards and four touchdowns. For his career, the Honolulu native amassed 1,845 receiving yards on 148 catches with nine touchdowns.

A prep standout at the prestigious Saint Louis School in Honolulu, Stutzmann was named one of the top 100 players in the Northwest his senior year and the sixth-best recruit from the state of Hawai’i. He was a three-time all-state and all-conference selection, playing much of his high school career alongside 2014 Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota.

Stutzmann graduated from Hawai’i in the fall of 2013.
