ASHLAND, Va. (Oct. 17, 2009) -- Emory & Henry struggled against a consistent and persistent Randolph-Macon team, giving the Yellow Jackets another reason to celebrate on their homecoming.

Randolph-Macon, last year's ODAC champions, utilized a strong running game that gobbled up time, to keep the Wasps on their heals and working their own strategy.

The Yellow Jackets went into halftime with two touchdowns and up 13-0. They added field goals in each of the remaining quarters.

The Wasps found themselves with good field position on many possessions, and often within scoring position. But the Yellow Jacket defense, which worked as methodically as their offense, kept them Wasps from the endzone.

Randolph-Macon held E&H runningback Caleb Jennings to 48 yards on 14 carries.

On defense, Shane Wicks led with seven individual tackles and assisted on seven more. Keith Taylor provided five solo tackles and assisted on one. Derrick Patterson had two solo tackles, including one sack and one tackle for loss.

The Wasps (4-2) return home Oct. 24 to play Bridgewater.
